By Osteopath Angela Fawcett
Bedwetting is a normal occurrence in young children but may still be present in 10% of 6 year olds and 5% of 10 year olds Once any underlying cause, such as a urinary tract infection is excluded, the usual methods of treatment involve techniques such as urine alarms and bladder training. The use of drugs is kept as a last resort.
It is also possible to treat this condition using “Cranial” Osteopathy.Patients with enuresis are usually found to have pressures in the abdominal and pelvic regions. This does not allow for easy expansion of the bladder. With osteopathic treatment these tensions gradually resolve allowing the body to regulate itself.
